Charles Babajide Onigbogi is currently the National Publicity Relations Officer, of the Society of Occupational and Environmental Health Physicians of Nigeria (SOEHPON), serving a second term in office.
He is a Public and Occupational health physician with over 20 years working experience in the Nigerian oil and gas industry. He is also a Professional Mentor (Certifed by the University of East London), a Health Insurance and Managed Care practitioner. He is a member of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM) and currently serving on ACOEM’s Council on Member Engagement – Member at Large. Charles is also a Member of the International Component Society on Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ICSOEM) of ACOEM, where he currently serves as an Alternate Delegate. He had meritoriously served as a Council Member of ACOEM’s Membership Communication Committee, and the H.O.D ACOEM’s International Section.
He is a Member of the International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH), serving on the Scientific Committee on Occupational Health for Health care workers. A member of the Nigerian Society for Travel Medicine (NSTM), Pan African Travel Medicine Federation (PATMF), Society for Quality in Healthcare in Nigeria (SQHN), The International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua), Society of Lifestyle Medicine of Nigeria (SOLONg), the American Public Health Association (APHA), the Association of Public Health Physicians of Nigeria (APHPN), and the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH).
Charles is a research enthusiast, and co-authored ACOEM’s Guideline Paper on the ‘Prevention of Occupational Heat-Related Illnesses’ in 2021. He had also published other peer-reviewed papers – ‘Prevalence and Risk Factors of Obesity among Workers in the Oil and Gas Industry of the Niger Delta Region’; and ‘Prevalence of Psychosocial Stress and Its Risk Factors among Healthcare Workers in Nigeria: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis’, and have made several paper presentations at conferences, both local and international.
He is a Fellow of the Institute for Health Insurance and Managed Care of Nigeria, and the Royal Society for Public Health, and Occupational Health.
Charles holds an MD degree, MPH from the University of Roehampton, and an MBA from the prestigious University of East London, among other academic qualifications.

I am an Occupational Physician, and work with NNPC Medical Services Limited, leading its occupational health team in Lagos, Nigeria.
I have received postgraduate trainings in occupational medicine and public health both in Nigeria and Overseas.
I have held several positions in SOEHPON. I am currently the National Secretary. Prior to that, i had served as the Assistant PRO and Treasurer of the Society.
I have served on the Local Organising Committee (LoC) for SOEHPON`s Annual Scientific Conference from 2021 to date.
I chair SOEHPON`s Working Committee on the Informal Sector.
I am a leadership coach, entrepreneurship enthusiast, change management expert and happily married with children.
