Dr Musa Shaibu

National President

Dr. Musa Shaibu, an Alumnus of University of Ibadan, is an occupational health practitioner, a healthcare Administrator and currently the Group Managing Director, Nisa Medical Group, Abuja. He has had 31 years of unblemished career in NNPC; working in teams and providing medical support for operations, in various sectors of the Nigerian Oil & Gas Industry.   Dr. Shaibu is very passionate about Health, Safety and the Environment and especially the health of people at work. He is an HSE Auditor.Dr. Shaibu trained at the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan for his MBBS Degree (1984), and at the School of Medicine, University of Aberdeen for his postgraduate certificates in Occupational Health (PGCOH) and Occupational Medicine (DOccMed.) of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians, London, UK.He also holds the MBA in International Healthcare Management (MBA, IHM) from the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, Frankfurt, Germany.Dr. Shaibu joined the services of NNPC in 1988 as Medical Officer and rose through the ranks while transiting the entire value chain of the NNPC business to become the Managing Director of the Service in August 2017. He proceeded on his statutory retirement in December 2019.He is currently the Group Managing Director of Nisa Medical Group, Abuja; a role he took up in August 2022. Dr. Shaibu is married with children and grandchildren; and enjoys playing golf.

Dr Lanre Ajayi

Vice President

Dr. ‘Lanre Ajayi is the Lead Occupational Health Physician at Medbury Medical Services, the corporate and occupational health subsidiary of Medbury Healthcare. In his role, he is responsible for excellence in delivery of corporate health initiatives to customers, providing clinical leadership and overseeing the clinical governance at Medbury Medical Services.He has also gained professional experience working within occupational health space in the UK and UAE, where he holds specialist registrations.A graduate of medicine from the Olabisi Onabanjo University, he holds post graduate degrees in Occupational Medicine with Distinction from University of Otago (New Zealand) and Occupational & Environmental Health and Safety Management from the University of Portsmouth, UK. He graduated Cum Laude from the postgraduate program in disability and rehabilitation studies from Stellenbosch University, South Africa. He is a member of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland.Some of his interests include Occupational Toxicology, Fitness for Work and Crisis Management.

Dr Ayo Agboola

National Secretary

I am an Occupational Physician, and work with NNPC Medical Services Limited, leading its occupational health team in Lagos, Nigeria. I have received postgraduate trainings in occupational medicine and public health both in Nigeria and Overseas. I have held several positions in SOEHPON. I am currently the National Secretary. Prior to that, i had served as the Assistant PRO and Treasurer of the Society. I have served on the Local Organising Committee (LoC) for SOEHPON`s Annual Scientific Conference from 2021 to date. I chair SOEHPON`s Working Committee on the Informal Sector. I am a leadership coach, entrepreneurship enthusiast, change management expert and happily married with children.

Dr Emeka Ofulue

Financial Secretary

Dr. Emeka Ofulue is a seasoned occupational health physician with expertise in workplace health and safety. He provides expert medical care to workers and advises employers on occupational health issues.  He is passionate about promoting health, safety and well-being in the workplace.  Dr. Ofulue holds a master’s degree in occupational medicine from University of Aberdeen -UK and M.B.B.S from the University of Benin. He is a fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health (FRSPH). He currently serves as the Brewery Medical Doctor at Nigerian Breweries Plc. Ibadan/Ijebu-Ode. Dr. Ofulue is excited to contribute to the success and growth of SOEPHON.

Dr Charles Onigbogi

National P.R.O.

A certified Professional Mentor, result-oriented and dedicated occupational and public health professional with over 20 years of working experience in the Nigerian oil and gas industry. He earned an MD from the prestigious Tver State Medical Academy, Tver. He got his MPH and MBA from the University of Roehampton, and the University of East London, both in the UK, respectively.He is a Council Member of ACOEM’s Council on Member Engagement – Member at Large (2024 – 2027 tenure). He is serving a second term at ACOEM, as the Alternate Delegate H.O.D (House of Delegate) for the International Component Society of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ICSOEM). Serving on the Scientific Committee on Occupational Health for Health care workers of the International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH) , as well as the American Public Health Association (APHA). Charles had meritoriously served as a Council Member of ACOEM’s Membership Communication Committee, and the Delegate H.O.D ACOEM’s International Section (2021- 2023).A research enthusiast, and co-authored ACOEM’s Guideline Paper on the ‘Prevention of Occupational Heat-Related Illnesses’. He is an active member of other local and international associations, including NSTM, PATMF, SQHN, ISQua, SOLONg, RSPH and APHPN.He enjoys dancing, travelling, photography, and above all the beautiful game of soccer - a Manchester United For-Life Fan.

Dr Folusho Alamina

Dr Folusho Alamina is a seasoned Occupational Health and Public Health Physician, working with Shell Nigeria, where she leads a multidisciplinary team. She is an alumnus of University of Ibadan, University of Manchester and London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.She is also a Fellow of the West African College Physicians, a WIMBoard Fellow and a member of the Harvard Business Review Advisory Council. In 2024, she received the ‘Admirable Woman in Leadership’ award by The Peak Performer Africa. Dr Alamina is a Lean Six Sigma green belt holder, a facilitator and a capacity builder. As a lifelong learner with a passion for people development, she actively mentors and coaches individuals and groups.  Her penchant for volunteerism is seen in her involvement in Toastmasters International (currently serving as the Area 17 Director, Trainer & Club Coach), Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria, Rivers State (President Elect) and Society of Occupational and Environmental Health Physicians of Nigeria (Assistant National Secretary).She has served in the Scientific and Local Organizing Committees of SOEHPON annual conference for several years where she continues to add significant value.She is happily married and blessed with three wise men.

Dr Kemi Albert Udoh

Kemi is an occupational physician with over 16 years’ working experience in three multinationals.She is presently, the Brewery medical doctor, Nigerian Breweries Lagos and Ota.

Dr Susan Dim

Dr Susan Dim is an Occupational Health Physician currently serving with ExxonMobil, a leading international oil and gas company with operations based in Eket, Akwa Ibom State, in South-South Nigeria.

She is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, and holds fellowships from both the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS) and the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (FMCOG).

Dr Dim also holds a Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH) from the College of Medicine, University of Lagos (CMUL), and a Diploma in Occupational Medicine (D.OccMed) from the Royal College of Physicians. She further earned a Master of Science (MSc) in Occupational Medicine from the University of Manchester (MSc. OccMed, Manch.).

She pioneered the Upstream Nigeria Telemedicine Pilot Project, the first of its kind within ExxonMobil, improving patient care delivery. She also initiated the Tuberculosis Control Programme, originally designed for offshore personnel and later expanded to cover onshore workers in congregate settings.

Dr Dim is a Subject Matter Expert in the use of the company’s Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, supporting both primary care and occupational health documentation, as well as emergency response.

She has served as Company Medical Review Officer (MRO) and currently functions as the Malaria Control Officer, overseeing implementation of the company’s Malaria Control Programme for both semi-immune and non-immune populations. Her portfolio includes:

  • Primary healthcare

  • Emergency response (onshore and offshore)

  • Medevac coordination (local and international)

  • Occupational health evaluations for staff

Following the divestment and merger with Seplat Energy in December 2024, Dr Dim was appointed to lead the medical team across multiple company locations. She is now responsible for the rollout of comprehensive Occupational Health programmes, clinical and emergency response systems for employees in both onshore and offshore settings.

Beyond her professional obligations, Dr Susan Dim is deeply involved in philanthropy through her Rotary Club engagements. She served as Akwa Ibom State PolioPlus Chair for two consecutive years and is a Past President of the Rotary Club of Eket (RCE).

Prof Folashade Omokhodion

Folashade Omokhodion is a professor of Community Medicine and Occupational Medicine at the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan and an honorary Consultant Community and Occupational Physician to the University College Hospital, Ibadan. She is currently Head of the Department of Occupational Health and Safety at the University College Hospital.She holds the MBBS degree of the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan and had her postgraduate training in Occupational Medicine at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine where she obtained the Master`s and PhD degrees in that specialty. She holds the Fellowship of the West African College of Physicians in the Faculty of Community Health, the Fellowship of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians of London and the Fellowship of the Faculty of Public Health of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom.Prof. Omokhodion has worked as consultant occupational physician to industries and consultant community physician to international agencies. She has worked as research adviser to Shell Petroleum Development Company. She was country coordinator for the Dreyfus Health Foundation program in Nigeria and served as a short-term consultant for the World Bank. She has been a Visiting lecturer to the Department of Public Health of the University of Kuopio, Finland and a Visiting Professor to the Occupational Medicine program at the Department of Medicine, University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada. She is a member of the Disease Control Priorities Network based at the University of Washington, Seattle where she chaired the Disease Control Priorities Gender project. Prof Omokhodion has published several papers in Occupational Medicine, Community Medicine and Women’s health. She is the Principal Investigator of the Women’s Health Research Group at the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan. She is member of the Board of the International Committee on Occupational Health (ICOH) in the 2024-2027 Triennium.
